What the Jury Noted
The jury’s citation specifically called out the home’s central courtyard as “an organizing idea rather than a decorative gesture” — the kind of recognition that means the most to us, since that was exactly our intent from the first concept sketch.
A Team Effort
This award reflects the work of everyone who touched the project, from our in-house landscape team to the contractors who executed the board-formed concrete detailing on site. Recognition like this belongs to the whole collaboration, not just the design table.
What’s Next
We’re already applying lessons from this project to our current residential work, particularly around how a single strong organizing idea — light, privacy, landscape — can carry a design further than a list of individually good features.
